The artist, Ruth O’Leary (www.rutholeary.com.au) relocated from the inner Melbourne suburb of Clifton Hill to enjoy a slower rhythm of life. This summer, we visit Ruth in her idyllic Daylesford home, in the north-west region of Victoria, and spend time basking in the sunshine and taking a dip with her wonderful children Apollo and Solaris. The time with Ruth offers us a glimpse into the warmth and tenderness of motherhood. There is something admirable about every woman that honours the role of carer, in whichever way, shape or form she chooses.
Where she draws inspiration from...
At the moment I am really inspired by Rosemary Gladstar and my friend Meg who is one part of artist as family @artistasfamily
On her favourite creatives...
At the moment Grandma Moses is really speaking my language.
On her favourite memory...
Arriving in Helsinki on new years eve in 2013, giving birth to my two sons, time spent with my grandmother.
Rituals with loved ones...
I love to sing a blessing every meal time with my family, we hold hands and it is really connecting. At the moment our daily rituals are picking strawberries and swimming in the dam all day.
